On Wednesday, March 21, 7:00 pm, the University of Missouri - St. Louis
Women's
Center presents "Ending Silence," an evening of theatrical and spoken word
performances that address violence against women. The two hour event will be
held in the Millennium Student Center Pilot House, featuring a one-woman
show
entitled "Silent Screams" written and performed by actress Shawn Guy-Pitts
beginning at 7 pm. Poet and author Floyd Boykin Jr. will read selections
from
his poetry anthology "No More Silent Cries" following Guy-Pitts. The event
is

Silent Screams is a one-woman show that takes a glimpse into the dynamic
lives
of 4 women from different upbringings but who share one common theme---their
silence of sexual abuse. Sprinkled with humor and an earthy appeal that both
men
and women can enjoy, Silent Screams speaks of courage and hope--designed to
bring about awareness and healing and is sure to "edutain" persons of all
ages,
races, and backgrounds.

No More Silent Cries is a poetry anthology dedicated to the topic of
domestic
violence and sexual abuse. It was released October 20, 2005. It was
published by Floyd Boykin Jr., who appears in this anthology, along with 41
