An Invitation to Media-Rads & Indy-Geeks, Journalists, Artists & Allies:
** The IMC-StL Re-Boot_Brainstorm **

Please join an informal meeting of like minds, a forum of stakeholders in IMC-StL, to discuss its emergent situation, needs, and potentials as a player in community & regional media.
The impetus arose in conversations among a few IMC & Confluence volunteers -- looking at common grounds in politics & press affairs, and ways to collaborate in some operations. But we were also struck by their different roles in local journalism, and the need to sustain their distinct missions:
Confluence is an independent publication tackling chosen issues in-depth, and a going operation... IMC-StL is an open-source, open-access media forum, and needs a jump-start.
It turned to an inquiry on the circumstances & prospects of Our IMC, in the big picture & changing media landscape -- and how to crank it up in new ways: Problems AS Opportunities -- calling for wider input, ideas from IndyMedia functionaries, followers & fans, and new formative energies.
Thus, the "Re-Boot Brainstorm"... with these questions and others on the table:
~ IMC connections with Confluence & other media re: news content & coverage;
~ IndyMedia operations, logistics, crew process -- essential partipation & skills;
~ building quality & continuity, updating IMC structure & editorial policy;
~ openings for investigative reportage, putting IndyJournalists to work;
~ making IMC-StL a resource for regional journalism & media issues; and...
~ ...what You thunk about it.
This is a chance to refocus the mission, and for IMC-StL to evolve. Think about it too as a set-up for an active working group, to move dialogues & transitions in coming months.

i would be interested in volunteering for editing. is the date of the meeting 3/15 or 3/13 (both are listed above)? thanks!

thanks for pointing this out; corrected. the meeting shall be 3/15, 7:30pm. there is a chance the location may change, but that would be announced on this site, and signs would be posted at CAMP.
