Yes, St. Louis IMC is finally having a general meeting to
launch the new site and workplan. IndyMedia operatives,
afficionados, and groupies are invited to show up and plug in... it's
a germinal moment, and an opportunity to play a role in making good
things happen.

There has been a hiatus on meetings since the "ReBoot
Brainstorms" this past Spring: Folks have been busy & burrowed in
the nuts & bolts, making steady progress -- new server space, new
site software, new interface nearly ready, for clarity, topical
breadth, and ease of use. We also have 2 new training projects
underway -- multi-media training in collaboration with KDHX, and
journalism/writers skillsharing workshops on core press skills. Now
it's time to pull it all together and make it happen.

Proposed Agenda:

* New Website Template -- the logic & layout, reviewing the final draft.
* Writing and Publishing on StLIMC -- the call for new stories,
tools to make 'em.
* Training Project Reports -- status & next steps in building
IndyJournalist skills
* Forming an Association -- new structure for interaction,
grants, & continuity
* Crew-Building -- volunteers for 3 working groups: Editorial, Tech, Co-Ops
* General Meetings -- restoring the monthly schedule for ongoing work
* What You Think -- ??

For background, we've sent out minutes on the ReBoot
Brainstorms, and the full series of reports (3/15, 3/26, 4/5, 4/18)
will be available through new links in a few days. This is an
interesting body of ideas... it will help to see what has been
discussed, to see where we can go.

Again -- this initiative won't move by magic: The new
St.L-IMC needs your input & energy, and grows on a broader consensus
of views, aspirations, and skills in the community.
