Criss Cross Circus

This summer, a high spirited troupe of students from Hampshire College are crossing the US on a traveling performance adventure to spread the imaginative spirit of circus along with a message of environmental concern. They'll be traveling in a colorful bus that runs on used vegetable oil.

Tentative schedule:
4 pm - get together in back yard for a parade around the neighborhood
5 pm - start the shows, blaqueberrie puppet show first, then criss cross circus
7 pm - potluck dinner / bbq / bonfire / party in backyard
also, a Bake Sale to support CAMP. Cupcakes by Boi Bella.

Add your email to the event announcement list (right hand column of home page) to be notified of the precise show time.

set in a post-apocalyptic climate-changed world, our adaptable show combines circus skills in a fluid narrative dealing with ecological themes. featuring skills such as acrobatics, juggling, stilt-walking, dancing and clowning, and with a striking eco-punk aesthetic, the show can be adapted for general audiences, kids, adults, or any other demographic. an optional fire performance is available for outdoor venues. we can also do workshops in juggling and circus, facepainting and general roustabouting to add ambiance to your event.

we'll gather around 4pm, get on our clown gear and parade around the neighborhood ... then we'll come back to camp and have a show! rumor has it, there might be a puppet show from the local rainbow repertory company also...

Suggested donation of $3 for kids, $5-$10 for adults.
If you live within 2 blocks of CAMP: $1 for kids, $3 for adults.
(no one turned away for lack of funds)

p.s. CAMP doesn't like people to bring drugs or alcohol to public events in our space. please don't. there will be kids around, and we just don't think it's kosher. thanks, xoxo.
