Become a CAMP Sustainer!
Hi folks - thanks so much to the Facebookers out there for for adding CAMP to your pages. Some of you may remember that we sent out a letter a few months ago asking for CAMP sustainers - to date the response has been pretty minimal, so we're breaking out the begging bowl again.
We spent the summer hanging out in the heat with neighborhood youth - having open hours four days a week for everything from a mural project, to instrument making, to bike building. (Summer flat tires fixed count is now over 50 ;) )
We are asking for your support. Today. Right Now. It has never been easier. You can set up a recurring donation through the paypal links on our webpage, or donate once through the causes link below (which will also automatically mail you a tax deduction letter)

CAMP is run on a shoestring budget through the work of lots of dedicated volunteers. However, we need to pay our mortgage, our heating bills, etc and start being able to pay our staff members with something other than love and hugs.
While donations of any size are greatly appreciated, we are looking for CAMP Sustainers. One hundred donors at $25/month would provide us with the ability to expand our youth programming and cover the accompanying increased expenses. This is the cost of a nice dinner out, or less than half of a tank of gas. It is fully tax-deductible. By becoming a CAMP Sustainer, you are also entitled to come to one event per month here completely free.

If you value having a community space that has as its foundation a systemic critique of oppression and a non-hierarchical organizing structure - we need your support.
If you value a space that can be used to incubate /your/ arts, media, or activism project - we need your support (and your projects!)
If you value a space that routinely brings in speakers and artists from around the country to speak on issues of social justice and sustainability - we need your support!
If you value an educational space that tries to give youth a say in what they are interested in learning - we need your support!
If you've ever been to a circus or burlesque show here, or dance or a potluck, used the free computers, browsed the library, eaten stuff out of the garden, fixed your bike, seen a documentary, made art with kids - we need your support!
Please become a CAMP Sustainer – your money will be multiplied tenfold through the incredible network of volunteers we have to bring a variety of programming, classes, events, non-corporate media and innovative art to South St. Louis. And as much as we would love to have your money, we would equally love to have you become be a part of envisioning the future of CAMP. We are open to your input, your visions, and your dreams. We are greatly in need of more volunteers - it can be as little or as much as you are willing to commit to.
Don't think everyone else will step up to the plate - they won't - we need YOU.
Fall is coming up and we are brainstorming what programs and events will be in the space. If you have a community organizing project you've been dying to implement, are looking for a space for an art show, want to teach (or take) a class, or want to work on bikes (bike shop volunteers are always needed!), please be in touch.
We rely on small donors to function - Please become a CAMP sustainer today!
